The request, made by Segura inc, based in Chicago, was to create an identity for the 4x4 vehicles of the company John Deere, worldwide renowned brand. The new brand would be named Gator (alligator in English) and it should have the power and ferocity of those reptiles. A timeless brand was needed, with a high profile and easily applicable to vehicles. The choice was a typographic work in which the weight and cuts of the main body of typography would refer to the power and ferocity of the alligator and also had a serious and lasting corporative impression.
